I Just love nuclear weapons, don't you? a. they fetch a great price on the BM, b. they are fun to tinker with.....if you are a techno wizard, or a crazy. c. You never know when you will have to detonate one in the face of something nasty.

Some good places to seek out nukes. (pre-caticilizim silos), these areas are great because there are no military folk about. Only thing is you have to find it, get a hauler out to it, and oh ya mind all the unworldly nastiness that may or may not reside within.


Another good, if not direct source is the (hunt the materials and have some one make it for you.) Not as profitable as the above route, but not impossible with all of the reactors floating about.

I enjoy planting a silo in the middle of underground tunnel labyrinths. Had one group of PC's that were investigating an abandonded mine and stumbled into a silo that turned into it's own nuclear weapon centered eco-system. Some fun with the automated defense systems and some precarious manuevering later it was all good.

I think the old nuclear facilities are more fun than the warheads themselves.

The silos also make great strongholds. Very few entrances, originally built for a significant level of security, etc.

People are actually remodeling these things as homes. Great idea. Highly defensible.

Especially good location for any end-of-the-world scenarios. Location, location, location!

Yeah. These Titan missile silos near my house are spacious. Get some geothermal and/or solar power going; some hydroponic gardening and you've got yourself an excellent post-apocalyptic shelter.

Or a fortress.
